Kirk co-founded Rusin Concrete Construction in 1997 alongside his brother after relocating to Colorado. Their roots in the construction industry run deep, both grew up working alongside their father, where they developed a firsthand understanding of concrete and construction that continues to shape the company today.
As a driving force behind the company’s growth, Kirk has played a key role in expanding Rusin Concrete’s reach across multiple sectors, particularly within the commercial business unit. His hands-on approach and practical knowledge of the work have kept the company grounded even as it has scaled, ensuring quality and consistency on every project.
Behind the scenes, Kirk has focused on turning strategic goals into real results, building out systems, streamlining operations, and refining workflows that keep the business running efficiently. His ability to execute on the operational side has been essential to maintaining Rusin Concrete’s reputation as a leader in the industry.
TJ Sheahen brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across the construction, infrastructure, and building products industries, with a strong track record of driving growth, improving operational performance, and building high-performing teams. Prior to joining Rusin Concrete Construction as Chief Executive Officer, TJ held executive leadership roles with organizations including AIMS Companies, Oldcastle Infrastructure, a CRH company, Studio Shed, a Backyard Products company, and GCP Applied Technologies.
Throughout his career, TJ has led large-scale operations, expanded market presence, and implemented strategic initiatives focused on long-term growth, operational efficiency, and organizational development. He has overseen business units exceeding $150 million in annual revenue and brings extensive experience in sales leadership, operations management, strategic planning, and team development.
TJ earned both a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Colorado State University.
As Chief Operating Officer, Jonathan Thomson brings over a decade of leadership experience in the construction industry, with a specialized focus on structural concrete and sustainable building practices. His strategic oversight plays a critical role in streamlining operations, strengthening internal processes, and ensuring every project aligns with the company’s high standards for quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Jonathan is known for his ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, foster strong client relationships, and drive growth through operational efficiency and innovation. His expertise spans the full construction lifecycle, from pre-construction planning and estimating to project execution and closeout. At Rusin, he’s been instrumental in developing scalable systems and building a collaborative culture that supports long-term success.
Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design with an emphasis in Sustainable Architectural Planning from the University of Colorado Boulder. His approach combines technical insight with a strong focus on people, making him a driving force in both our project execution and company culture.
With over 30 years of experience in human resources, Julie has been a cornerstone of Rusin Concrete Construction since joining in May 2016. As HR Director, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the company, playing a critical role in shaping and implementing key processes, hiring top talent, and ensuring the company’s compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Her deep understanding of HR operations is reflected in her work developing effective systems to support employee growth, maintain company culture, and optimize workforce efficiency. As a SHRM-CP (Certified Professional) since 2015, Julie continues to stay at the forefront of HR best practices, further enhancing the value she brings to the organization.
Before joining Rusin Concrete, Julie held significant HR leadership roles across various industries, including positions at ProActive Therapeutic Alliance, El Paso County Department of Human Services, Fidelity National Information Services, and Lockheed Martin Finance Corporation. Her diverse background has equipped her with a unique skill set that directly benefits the company.
Kevin has been a key member of the leadership team at Rusin Concrete Construction for the past two years. As Controller, he plays a crucial role in managing the company’s financial operations, overseeing accounting functions, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. With a strong background in finance and accounting, he is instrumental in helping the company maintain financial integrity and drive its growth strategy.
Kevin holds a Bachelor’s in Accounting and an MBA in Finance, both from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Before joining Rusin Concrete, he spent 12 years as Controller and Director of Finance at various government contractors. His experience in these roles has equipped him with a deep understanding of financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, all of which he leverages to support the company’s financial goals.
In his role at Rusin Concrete, Kevin has proven to be an invaluable part of the leadership team, contributing to strategic decision-making and the overall financial health of the company. His expertise and dedication to sound financial practices have helped streamline processes and improve operational efficiency, making him an essential asset to the organization’s continued success.
With over 12 years at Rusin Concrete, Staci Calderon has been instrumental in driving the company’s growth across both the residential and commercial markets. As Vice President of Business Development, she leads strategic initiatives that support client partnerships, business operations, and marketing efforts across all sectors of the company.
Staci’s background in marketing and advertising, paired with her operational expertise has helped position Rusin as a respected leader in the construction industry. She holds a B.A. in Marketing Communications with an emphasis in Advertising from CSU Fullerton, and uses that foundation to craft targeted marketing campaigns, elevate community outreach, and strengthen client relationships.
Staci also serves as the Chair for Rusin’s Community Outreach Committee in addition to serving on the Board of Directors for HBA Cares, reflecting her strong commitment to community engagement and industry leadership.
As Director of Preconstruction at Rusin Concrete, Vincent Schauer brings four decades of commercial construction expertise and proven leadership to every project. With extensive experience spanning preconstruction, estimating, and operations across Colorado, Vince has successfully delivered hundreds of millions of dollars in complex construction projects. His comprehensive understanding of the construction process—from initial concept through final completion—ensures that every project starts on solid ground with accurate budgets, realistic schedules, and clear execution strategies.
Vince has led preconstruction efforts on diverse projects ranging from state-of-the-art educational facilities and healthcare centers to recreational complexes and government installations. He is skilled at collaborating with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners to develop comprehensive project solutions that balance quality, cost, and schedule. His strategic approach to preconstruction, combined with his hands-on construction background, allows him to identify opportunities and mitigate challenges before they impact the project.
Vince started his career in the trades with his father’s company, Schauer Construction, working as a laborer, carpenter, and foreman to gain invaluable firsthand knowledge of field operations. Over 30 years, he worked his way up through the organization, advancing from Field Engineer to President and managing projects up to $12 million. This unique combination of hands-on field experience, progressive leadership development, and executive-level expertise has shaped his practical, results-driven approach to construction management—qualities that make him an invaluable asset to the Rusin Concrete team.
