As Chief Operating Officer, Jonathan Thomson brings over a decade of leadership experience in the construction industry, with a specialized focus on structural concrete and sustainable building practices. Jonathan is known for his ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, foster strong client relationships, and drive growth through operational efficiency and innovation. His expertise spans the full construction lifecycle, from pre-construction planning and estimating to project execution and closeout. At Rusin, he’s been instrumental in developing scalable systems and building a collaborative culture that supports long-term success.

Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design with an emphasis in Sustainable Architectural Planning from the University of Colorado Boulder. His approach combines technical insight with a strong focus on people, making him a driving force in both our project execution and company culture.

Julie Raine

With over 30 years of experience in human resources, Julie has been a cornerstone of Rusin Concrete Construction since joining in May 2016. As HR Director, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the company, playing a critical role in shaping and implementing key processes, hiring top talent, and ensuring the company’s compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Her deep understanding of HR operations is reflected in her work developing effective systems to support employee growth, maintain company culture, and optimize workforce efficiency. As a SHRM-CP (Certified Professional) since 2015, Julie continues to stay at the forefront of HR best practices, further enhancing the value she brings to the organization.

Before joining Rusin Concrete, Julie held significant HR leadership roles across various industries, including positions at ProActive Therapeutic Alliance, El Paso County Department of Human Services, Fidelity National Information Services, and Lockheed Martin Finance Corporation. Her diverse background has equipped her with a unique skill set that directly benefits the company.

Kirk Rusin

Kirk has been an implementor behind Rusin Concrete Construction, which he co-founded in 1997 alongside his brother after relocating to Colorado. With deep roots in the construction industry, their journey began in childhood, working alongside their father and gaining invaluable knowledge of concrete and construction.

Kirk has been a driving force for many years playing a key role in the company’s growth and success across multiple sectors. With a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of concrete construction, Kirk has been instrumental in expanding the company’s commercial business unit.

He has been pivotal in taking strategic initiatives and translating them into actionable plans, ensuring that the company’s goals are achieved efficiently. His ability to implement systems, streamline operations, and optimize workflows has been crucial in maintaining Rusin Concrete’s position as an industry leader.

Jerry Biggs

Since joining Rusin Concrete Construction in 2009, Jerry has brought a wealth of financial expertise and visionary leadership to the team. With over twenty-five years of experience at the helm of a leading CPA and management consulting firm he co-founded, Jerry established himself as a trusted advisor in the real estate and construction sectors. Under his guidance, the firm grew to become the third largest in Colorado Springs, providing innovative tax and business solutions tailored to the unique challenges of its clients.

As an active real estate investor, Jerry applies his insights to several ventures within the industry, ensuring they thrive in a competitive market. His leadership extends beyond Rusin Concrete, as he holds positions on various boards for trade and charitable organizations and contributes to local and state economic development initiatives. His dedication to community service has earned him numerous accolades, including the 2010 El Paso County Community Leader of the Year award.

Looking ahead, Jerry envisions Rusin’s growth through strategic initiatives that maximize market opportunities, deliver exceptional value to customers, and protect stakeholder interests.

Josh Klenda

As the CEO of Rusin Concrete Construction, Josh brings a wealth of experience and a strategic vision that drives the company’s continued growth and success. Josh oversees all facets of the company’s operations, from project management to financial strategy, ensuring that every team member has the support and resources they need to succeed.

Josh holds BS degree in both Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering from the University of Missouri and serves on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Springs Home Building Association.

Josh has expertise in all facets of concrete construction, including residential home building, elevated structural and podium decks, tilt-up, pre-cast, and post-tension systems, Josh ensures that each project is completed to the highest standards. His leadership and technical knowledge are instrumental in driving the success of Rusin Concrete Construction and our customers.

Kevin Allen

Kevin has been a key member of the leadership team at Rusin Concrete Construction for the past two years. As Controller, he plays a crucial role in managing the company’s financial operations, overseeing accounting functions, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. With a strong background in finance and accounting, he is instrumental in helping the company maintain financial integrity and drive its growth strategy.

Kevin holds a Bachelor’s in Accounting and an MBA in Finance, both from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Before joining Rusin Concrete, he spent 12 years as Controller and Director of Finance at various government contractors. His experience in these roles has equipped him with a deep understanding of financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, all of which he leverages to support the company’s financial goals.

In his role at Rusin Concrete, Kevin has proven to be an invaluable part of the leadership team, contributing to strategic decision-making and the overall financial health of the company. His expertise and dedication to sound financial practices have helped streamline processes and improve operational efficiency, making him an essential asset to the organization’s continued success.

Mike Patino

With over 27 years of experience in the construction industry, Mike has spent 15 years at Rusin Concrete, serving in various positions of the Commercial Division. In his current role as Operations Manager, Mike oversees the entire project lifecycle, ensuring that all commercial projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to design specifications. He supervises contractors, material suppliers, and the Rusin Commercial Concrete team, while maintaining a strong focus on quality control and safety compliance.

Mike’s extensive background includes overseeing large-scale projects across various sectors, including residential, healthcare, and industrial developments. His hands-on experience in managing complex construction processes, coordinating with owners, architects, and engineers, and ensuring project adherence to all regulations has equipped him with the expertise to handle a wide range of commercial concrete projects. Mike’s leadership ensures that each project is executed with precision, meeting both client expectations and industry standards.

In addition to his leadership experience, Mike holds several certifications including OSHA 10-Hour, Qualified Rigger, and Certified Post-Tension Installer. His dedication to safety, quality, and efficiency drives the success of Rusin Concrete’s commercial division, making him an integral part of the company’s continued growth and reputation for excellence.

Jim Cosgrave

Jim Cosgrave is an experienced Safety Director at Rusin Concrete, bringing over two decades of expertise in occupational safety and health management. With 23+ years in the construction industry, his vast experience spans a wide range of sectors, including healthcare, higher education, sports arenas, and mixed-use developments. Jim’s comprehensive background allows him to effectively navigate the complexities of safety protocols across various project types and environments.

A member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, Jim holds several certifications that reinforce his commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards. He holds an Associate’s degree in Risk and Safety Management, is a certified Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), and is an OSHA 500 Authorized Trainer.

Jim is deeply committed to the philosophy that people always come first. He prioritizes the well-being of individuals above all else, advocating for a "people over process" approach. His dedication to safety is not just about compliance but about creating a culture where safety is woven into every aspect of a project.

Erik Rusin

Erik is a visionary force behind Rusin Concrete Construction, which he co-founded in 1997 alongside his brother after relocating to Colorado. With deep roots in the construction industry, their journey began in childhood, working alongside their father and gaining invaluable knowledge of concrete and construction.

Starting with residential projects, Erik quickly established long-term partnerships with builders and tradespeople across the region. His hands-on approach and tenacity have shaped the company into the respected entity it is today. Known for his "get-it-done" attitude, he combines a passion for construction with a genuine love for building relationships.

Over the past 27+ years, Erik has been dedicated to serving the Colorado community and the industry. His commitment to excellence and personal connections has fostered a strong network that continues to thrive. As a current member of the Board of Directors, he remains actively involved in guiding the company's vision and ensuring its continued success

Staci Calderon

With over 11 years of experience at Rusin Concrete, Staci has become an integral part of the leadership team, contributing significantly to the company’s growth and success. As the Business Operations and Marketing Manager, she is responsible for overseeing the residential business unit success and leading Rusin’s overall marketing strategies. Staci plays a pivotal role in maintaining key relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders, ensuring that Rusin Concrete remains well-connected and highly regarded within the construction industry.

Staci’s background in marketing and advertising has been a driving force behind her success at Rusin. She holds a BA in Marketing Communications with an emphasis on Advertising from Cal State Fullerton and has applied her skills to create effective marketing campaigns, enhance community outreach, and strengthen customer relations. Over the years, she has been instrumental in developing and implementing processes and procedures that have helped Rusin navigate periods of significant growth while maintaining operational efficiency.

In addition to her role at Rusin, Staci serves on the Board of Directors for HBA Cares, further demonstrating her commitment to community involvement and leadership. Her passion for marketing, community engagement, and client relations continues to be a key factor in the ongoing success and reputation of Rusin Concrete Construction.
